The Name of the Serpent

Izzie once again falls victim to the evil will of a certain Potions Mistress with a prediliction for practising a certain Unforgiveable Curse.
It is less will power and more being busy and infrequent visits to Cyberia that explains this serpent's ability to resist for seven days or so. Since this period of time has ended, we can give in with good conscience and compliment
mamaslyth on her tendency to make her use of such devious devices for compliance always interesting and enjoyable
So here is the command that the Izzie must obey
Explain your LiveJournal name and its meaning. When you're done, tag as many people as there are letters in your name.
Four years ago when we first seen the Green Light, little Ickle Izmeina arose fully formed from the darkest depths of our snakie soul.
Our online name is a combination of several Russian words
'izmenit'sa' - to change, be changed
'zmeya' - serpent and 'zmeinii, zmeinaya' etc - snaky
Then there is also the nasty and sneaksy 'izmena' which is best left untranslated ;)
We did not consciously compose this name - it sort of arose out of the depths of our snaky little soul but we suspect was significantly influenced by having recently read the rather exotic and esoteric "e- the story of a number" followed by the Potters which were simply dripping with symbolic imagery and mythical references.
But for us - it is the concept of change that is the most significant element. It was just after an incident that significantly changed our outlook on life from nihilistic cynicism to a more optimistic and less fearful attitude that inspired this name as it seemed to symbolise much of what had happened.
Also having a preference for spirals and quirky curliness over pentacles, the association of both spirals and serpents with change and rebirth made this name particularly appealing
It was especially suitable for enrolling in a certain online lurking ground where we met most of our Cyberian associates which was where it made its first public debut before eventually assuming its present incarnation in Livejournal land
Well. Now to the second part of the evil Imperius curse which requires that we do unto others as was done unto us
So, searching through the list of serpentine associates - most of whom seem to have fallen victim already
But all is not lost. A few unsuspecting victims remain. IMPERIO!

Date: 2006-05-26 12:58 am (UTC)Tima has been very busy with work and college but found a time to wish you a happy birthday :)))
and what a great suprise to find myself under a curse! I guess it was because of this Imperio that I'm here now.
TimaTina comes from my own name faTIMA crisTINA. In that place we-do-not-name, a professor gave me a nickname, tima. I really liked the fact that I wouldn't be called Fa, Fafa and so on... but tima... and tima sound more fun :)))
Hope i've answered you ;) and nice birthday ;)
The Curse of the Ancient Emerald Serpent
Date: 2006-05-31 03:40 pm (UTC)Yesss. Tima and tina do go well together. But there's no fun in finding yourself under a curse if you don't go doing evil unto others like was done unto you.
(Now it's time for this most ancient of serpents to curl up in her snoozie basket and wish you a good night and best of wishes with the nasty NEWTs)
