Harvest Moon
07/10/2006 10:22 pmJust a quick squiggle. Was a glorious sunny day but instead of doing anything exciting, got dropped off by Dudley (the Izzie's big bad brother) to downtown Uxbridge ( a boring little town on the outskirts of London) with nothing more interesting to do than shopping. No beautiful batcaves or castle ruins like last Saturday.
Especially chose one of the earlier buses to come home with - 18.47 to be exact - with the intention of being back in time for sunset and moonrise. Missed it yesterday as it was raining as usual.
Was expecting the moon to be up about 30 mins after sunset but not at all. Got off the bus to see the bugger had sneaked a head start on us and must have been up at least 20 mins. And that was exactly 7pm. Most miffed indeed as it would probably have been a glorious shade of orange. But there's not really any nice patch of east facing horizon here so not sure if we would have been able to see it coming up even if we had got back in time
The Izzie comes all the way from Oz to visit her brother who she hasn't seen in 8 years. You'd think he'd do something like organize for us to do something interesting tomorrow. But no - he's meeting some critter on a blind date from one of his chicks with dicks online dating things. Spends all day bitching about Pakis and wogs and trailer trash and calling them all the most abusive names under the sun but then goes out with one on a date anyway. Wish he'd make up his mind. He's going to have to make a real effort to be Mr Nice Guy (coz he certainly ain't) and certainly will not want to be inviting her back to his pigsty for a roll in the haystacks. It's like a damned graveyard for cars - 18 at last count plus the one out on the street. Even this computer is sitting on a very large stack of wheels in boxes.
But at least it means that the Izzie will get an uninterrupted few hours or so pottering in Cyberia with no nasty snooping lookenpeepers.
