Tiptoeing through the tulips
08/11/2006 11:38 amIzzie is back in Amsterdam since just about this time yesterday. Managed to schlepp two big fat bags of serpent goodies back to our sister's place without incurring any damage other than tiredness and two very sore footsies. Nothing that a large bath of calendula potion and foot balsam did not cure.
Yessss. Sure paid for those two days of decadence at the simply amazing Bio Basics (An organic and wholefoods paradise with all sorts of other evil temptations too) but once we got in the door the worst was over. Little nieciekins was most delighted to have lots of bits and bags to rummage through.
Will be slinking off with our sister this afternoon doing the nicest nine streets of Amsterdam (A cute and quirky corner that is a bit off the tourist trail and frequented by the locals)
We loves being in all these wonderful places. It's just getting there that's the problem. Was so so nice and got all sort of slushy and sentimental to see those streets again and realised that Amsterdam truly is an architectural wonderland full of nooks and crannies - a characteristic it has in common with Vienna. Definitely different styles but don't let the Dutch fool you with their reputation for doomy gloominess. But when it comes to coffee and chocolate crawls, nobody comes anywhere close to the Viennese.
So many new and interesting adventures. The ickle green cells are totally overwhelmed. Will certainly need to come up with some inspiration and to do something useful and creative with all of those discoveries.
It's only since the start of November that time is seriously moving fast and the end is looming larger than ever. Will be getting all slushy and nostalgic.
