The Culture Vulture
09/11/2006 11:50 amIzzie should be out slinking in the streets of Amsterdam as it is now 12.40pm and it gets dark around 5.30ish or so. But we are making the most of the fact that the Izzie sister is out bringing the little frog princess for a walk so we get to slink about in Cyberia unsupervised. (Neither her nor that nasty brother know that the Izzie has an online hissing post and we have no intention of letting them find out either. So Constant Vigilance is required at all times)
Apologies in advance for lack of replies to posts, comments and stuff. Catching up and the odd squiggle here is about the best we can do until our reunion with the Preciousss some time on Monday.
Yesterday, put on the culture vulture hat and the pair of us went to see the Rembrandt House. Still recovering from the gorgeousness of it all. First Hundertwasser Haus in Vienna and then this. So much beauty is simply exhausting.
It was so amazing seeing the place he lived and worked and getting a close up peek at some amazing paintings. The Izzie is not a people serpent but the portrait of Agatha Bas is simply to die for. Absolutely amazing and infinitely more impressive than that silly smirking bitch located in the Louvre.
Today will be pottering the little canal streets and might even make a detour back to the uber creepy Scheepvaartshuis. Will one day snatch the link to the pretty piccies that we posted here ages ago as a private entry
Was introduced to an utterly evil chocolate shop called Puccini's. Absolutely fabulous. The Izzie sister is so talented at sniffing out the bestest cheese, choccies and coffees.
Hoping to do a proper squiggle later about all the gorgeous Rembrandt stuff. And there's even more in the Reijksmuseum which we still have not yet got around to seeing
So many things to see and still only like touching the tip of the iceberg. Yessss. That is the main thing we miss in Oz - all the old buildings and museums.
