A quick squiggle

izmeinaA quick slink before curling up in the Serpent Basket. Unlike last Sunday, Izzie is not working from 7am until 9pm but just a pissy little 5-9 shift. With all the will in the world - hoping to visit the Zoo enroute to work. Thanks to the sizzling 40 degree day, did not follow the usual ritual of visiting our friends in the Snakepit on Australia Day and have not managed to drop by since.
Lucky for Izzie - the zoo is on a direct bus line from the Lair and also to work. But due to our unusual work schedule this year - as well as those heat waves, not managed to visit there at all this year
Just been lurking in the garden peeking at the stars before this quick slink online. So so nice to finally have a user friendly ISP that does not toss us out for the silliest reason. But more about our Dodo Divorce some other time and about our new partner in online evilness.
So so much stuff we wanted to squiggle this week. February is a month of many anniversaries in Izzieland but thanks to dopy Dodo, our plans to post about any of them online was put to an abrupt end but that did not mean we could not observe them in real life.
Then there's lots and lots of munchies. Used the last of the brown basmati rice brought back from our grand European Tour. Got this particular packet in Maastricht. Now we know why the stuff is so impossible to get here in Oz. Opened it last Saturday and put it in the cotton bag our last lot of normal basmati rice came in. In spite of such precautions, it took only a week for the beastly weevils to be feasting on our precious grains. So, had to sort out the grains from the worms and cooked the whole lot. The iffie bits - left them soaking - will make some watery little patch in the garden and see if they sprout.
Been a bit slack with everything in the last week or so. Since the start of February, the grand garden plans seem to have come to a complete halt. And the grand decluttering project is doing not much better either.
Ah well. There's always tomorrow.
