The Capital of Kitsch

The Izzie is at Petunia's place. In spite of being glued to the idiot box for the last 3 night, the ma was just not up to lasting the final stages of voting in the Eurovision song contest. But this masochistic serpent performed the heroic deed
Did watch the 20 something finalists. Izzie's tastes are nowhere near normal but did rather like the Albanian, Israeli and Serbian entries. Sort of slow sad and depressing. There were some rather amusing heavy metal wannabees and some appalling schmalz like those awful corny Greek, French and Spanish entries
Oh and how can we forget the winner what the Izzie calls the "I canhascheeseburger' entry (and tribute to The Secret)
It wasn't bad actually compared to the usual standard of English language entries but there is a sort of deju vu feeling to this one
Well, if nothing else - at least it was an opportunity to drown our sorrows and scare the dementors away who have been paying more than their fair share of attention to this serpent since Thursday
It's a cyclical thing - the joys of being a direct descendant of a manic depressive critter. The usual tricks to ward off the beasties such as dark chocolate with pink peppercorns, happy thoughts or miserable music did not work and being in the middle of reading Goblet of Fire probably did not help either. All there is to do is simply hide under a rock and wait for the miserable monsters to get bored and move on
Might manage a proper post tomorrow back in our own place where there is a mouse in the house and no need to zap all serpent slinkings in case Petunia goes snooping
