A Pickled Python

izmeinaIt's a stinking hot 30 something in Dursleyville right now and that's at nearly 10 in the evening. Yesterday was just as bad
Got to thinking that it was lucky we managed to get to the beach to see that last sunset of the year on Friday. It certainly did recharge the old serpent batteries
As much as we loathe this hot, humid clammy weather, was able to get through the last few days without crashing or getting all miserable or irritable like the week before Christmas when it was just as bad
It doesn't do wonders for inspiration and good intentions. So decided to adopt the habit of plodding and pottering along. Tossing ten things a day or sorting out just one bit of junk to keep the clock ticking over until normal programming can resume
Did plant a few basil seeds tonight and been watering the weeds as they are most under the weather indeed
Still waiting for flowers to appear on the three Tommy Toe tomato seedlings that survived the 40 celsius sizzle
It's supposed to cool down to the mid 20s for the rest of the week with rain and thunderstorms forecast. Will believe that when we see it.
Doing well on the staying away from temptation front. The first three days of the year did not spend one single cent
Today went to the usual cafe but it was so hot and humid that the serpent did not sit in the usual spot at one of the four outside tables
Tomorrow will be doing a longer coffee crawl after work. Will visit the Secret Garden Cafe and do some squiggling in the little green book and that 2005 recycled plotting and planning diary
Some time in the next two weeks hoping to have more than half of the 30 something things on this year's to do list with definite dates attached. Lots of nanowrimo plotting and planning scheduled for February which is much too hot for gardening.
For the same reason this month will get more than its fair share of online or computer related activities
Then there's the black bottle of rich thick Wynn's Cabernet that should have been the drop of choice for the serpent birthday on Sunday just gone but the weather was so hot that it would have been a total waste. Will save it for the first Wednesday of the year instead and drink to the memory of victory over a certain Rat Queen.
She tried to get rid of the Izzie but she is now long gone along with the three freaks and their families that she used to fawn over to the exclusion of everyone else and who made life a living hell for the house elves
So onwards with the plodding and plotting. Slow and steady
