The world is going to hell in a handbasket so what does a serpent do but slink into the garden with a glass of red and some tasty little peanuts and sit under the trees sniffing the intoxicating scent of the orange blossoms. The fragrance is so divinely delicious that it's a miracle it has not been declared illegal
Then of course there's crazy Camp Nanowrimo. Funny - Izzie's been sleeping in a tent lots lately but no writing ever gets done under such circumstances
It's kind of crazy to do nanowrimo anyway but particularly so when it's not much more than a practice run for the main event this November. But never underestimate the power of external deadlines

Been on holidays the best part of two weeks. Back to work at 7am on Monday. But do you think that the Izzie even once got up around 6ish during the last couple of weeks in order to be somewhere interesting by 7am - coffee crawling in Fremantle, whale watching at the ocean or even peeking at the pretty crescent moon in the first mornings of August?
Did get up early to go places twice but that was getting the bus at 8am and certainly not being there already at that time
So the same principle explains the attraction of nanowrimo in all its incarnations. It's still a self imposed deadline but with large external component

The first week mainly rained so lots of the more interesting places got struck off the agenda - sunset at the beach and sniffing the roses - that sort of thing
Was also on a downer so that did not help.

It was bad timing with the holidays too. The whole point was to have some extra time to spend with the Izzie sister and her family visiting from overseas since the last week of July. Thought it would take them a couple of weeks at least to find their bearings and before they would even think off going off on any camping adventures. As it turned out, they headed up north on the second day of our holidays, returned on the weekend and then went south on Tuesday. So for the total 14 days that Izzie is away from work they have been 9 of those on the road.
So Izzie decides to do her own version of camping over in Nanoland.

Been lots of juicy morsels on the radio lately but never seem to get around to posting too much these days. The tea party antics in the USA is especially entertaining. There's something so fascinating and addictive about watching a train wreck in action. Looks like we are in the middle of watching yet another empire go broke from stretching its tentacles too far and too wide

Not been watching TV much lately so not seen much of the riots in London but it sure seems like a reply from the ancient days of the early 80s. Already getting nostalgic for spooky songs like the Specials "Ghost Town" and "The Lunatics have taken over the asylum"
Hard to believe that was all some 30 years ago. The joys of getting old

Looks like we will have to go sniffing about to see the film we missed when it was in the cinemas "The Inside Job" It has been mentioned several times in the last few days and anyone - very few it seems who saw it all rave about it
Did see the last Potter both in plain vanilla and at twice the price at an Imax 3D cinema in the shopping centre from hell. The sound was much better - all those pretty little horcruxes hissing sweet nothings into Harry's ears but it was not worth the extra silver sickles
Loved seeing the bank getting trashed by one very grumpy marauding dragon

But will save those musings for another day. Now it's time to slink off to the serpent sack before the clock strikes midnight
