It's over a month now since the last serpent squiggle in Cyberia. The usual quota of words were diverted to adventures in Camp Nanowrimo and then there were assorted online courses requiring attention. But the biggest distraction of all was the arrival and departure of dearest Daisy Dursley and her family. Even managed to slink down south for a few days with the serpent's sister.

While it is always nice to reunite with family after several years since last seeing them, this time together was much more precious due to the fact that the three of them arrived in July on a Malaysia Airlines flight and lived to tell the tale. They've also returned home safely with the same carrier.

Then this week was the great temptation of the annual Save the Children book sale. Yet more stuff to read and all at bargain basement prices.

There's also lots of online reading to catch up on. There are so many interesting posts that I've read and wanted to leave comments.

Been invited to Petunia's place tonight so it's time to procrastinate for yet another day.

It's good to hear you had fun with your sister! And I'm happy to hear you've also been writing! :D

I am not allowed to go to the Save The Children's sale anymore (my own rules, nobody else's!) But the local library here also sells books every week, which is obviously not helpful. Sigh. For the book-addict, temptation is everywhere!

Izzie's finally been catching up and this TED talk transcript (http://www.npr.org/templates/transcript/transcript.php?storyId=248198314) has your name all over it. I still wonder how you find time to write all those thought provoking posts on your other blog when you have so many people and things begging for your attention.

The Izzie sister is also one for standing tall and taking shit from no one. Strange how people in the same family can be so very different.

I slinked off to that book sale on the half price day. Was not actually in search of something. It was the inner hoarder and the thrill of the hunt that is the big temptation.
But now that one of my voluntary jobs is at a STC op shop, there's no need to wait a whole year to get a fix. It's so wonderful having the book section as the serpent's own special territory and getting to sort all the tasty morsels.

The local libraries here have also resorted to such evil temptations. It's scary when you think that they have to get nearly all their books at full price but then they get next to nothing when it comes to selling them.

That was really cool and interesting to read! And yep, I totally identify. I'm going to be walking around like Wonder Woman all the time now, just watch :)

As for all the other people and things begging for my attention, well, I just ignore them ;)

Oh, that's awesome that you get to sort out all the books! I'm starting to get back into reading after taking (yet another) break. I miss it, and always want to do more of it but see above regarding interruptions ;)
