A Monster unmasked

Today began like any other day.


Being Friday - it’s weeds day when I volunteer with a native plant nursery and then spend the afternoon on a coffee crawl.
Today’s plans were going to be a little different due to the full moon
I love moon watching and had planned a little picnic on the south shore looking over to the city. I had some bread, cheese, dips and things and the only item missing was the bottle of wine
But it had been raining in the morning so there was still a question of the weather clearing up in time to even see the big fat yellow critter

While pottering around in the nursery I was listening to podcasts as usual. I make a list of them specially for Fridays. First cab off the rank was the 4th episode of “America. If you’re listening” Normally I grab this one when it comes out on Mondays but figured that since it was about the special relationship with Saudi Arabia, today would be the most appropriate day to listen
I thought the murder of Khashoggi was bad enough and was only too familiar with the appalling excuses offered by the White House after the event. I also knew that Mohammed Bone Saw had creepy Kushner in his pocket. But the time line of how trump turned from endless bitching about KSA to being best friends for ever was truly nauseating

Then I had lined up a couple episodes of Gaslit Nation - the commentary on this week’s shit show along with “Donald Trump is a Ponzi Scheme”
But ten minutes in, the broadcast kept stopping and after restarting it every few minutes, I finally got pissed off and gave up listening. It was just too frustrating.

So that was when I paid more attention to the radio that was on in the background. Around 12.30 or so on a commercial music radio station aimed at 30 somethings ( I think) I caught some mention of the White House and Coronavirus. My ears pricked up and I asked some of the other people if they heard what was said. No luck there
So I made a point of paying special attention at 1pm for the official news bulletin



Apparently trump had tweeted that both he and Melanoma had tested positive for Covid 19
My first reaction was - of course he is lying. He sneers at people who get sick and calls them low energy. Hell it was this day back in 2016 when he made a YUUGE drama about HRC having Pneumonia and imitated her staggering down a ramp

A couple other people were also paying attention this time around and the general consensus was that he was just trying to weasel out of more debates and to find some excuse to cancel or delay the election

I finished for the day at 2pm and pottered on over to Twitter which was well and truly in meltdown
All those grand plans of starting a new book “Absolute Power” by David Baldacci - about a dodgy US President which in those days was the stuff of fiction thrillers or of filling out stuff for October in the Goal Digger diary soon took a back seat

I went on to trump’s twitter feed to see a post about Hope Hicks testing positive with the implication that he had caught it from her. So much for privacy concerning medical information. He just threw her under the bus and then I started hearing weird things he had been saying on Fox about Hope Hicks and her habit of hugging soldiers
Amazed that he restrained himself from calling them suckers and losers


It now appears that the bug was doing the rounds at the White House and they were basically dragged out kicking and screaming into admitting that they had tested positive
So the tweet wasn’t the trigger but a response to the drama about to blow up

I still happen to think that the timing is mightily convenient. One thing trump sure knows how to do is to play the media like an orchestra conductor. To lure them in with some bright shiny distraction to divert attention away from the disastrous debate, the Hufflepuff Hitler Youth (also known as Proud Boys) and the ridiculous porkies about postal voting fraud

Meanwhile, the weather was getting colder and windier in spite of being spring. October in this bit of Oz is usually associated with sunny 25 degree days.
So I decided to abandon my original plan of leaving the cafe at 5.30pm in order to catch a train to the city and a bus south to the best moon watching spot in order to be there at least 20 minutes before scheduled moon rise time of 18.40

The newspaper still had stories from the fallout of that debate debacle. In particular, the possible new rules to discourage disruption

Now it turns out that all that hissing, snarling, snorting, ranting and raving could be more than just low life bullying and emotional abuse but a possible vector for dodgy don’s aerosol droplets

That will be the true test of the truth of trump’s Covid claims. If anyone else who attended that super spreader event tests positive then it is likely that today’s trump tweet is not FAKE NEWS which would be a first I guess

The fact that he made a point of ridiculing Biden about wearing a mask and that none of his minions in the audience wore them either after being requested by the hosts of the event is just beyond despicable

Trump has been so damned reckless with those rallies and lack of precautions that it is a miracle he has not been infected before. But if his rabid dog rants end up infecting Chris Wallace, Joe Biden or any other people there who make a point of taking precautions, then that will be simply beyond redemption

Someone like trump who has spent the last five years and likely his own life laughing and mocking people who are sick or disabled, trying to trash the crumbs of ACA in the courts, questioning in public the Covid stats and ridiculing those who wear masks, even if he does have miraculous conversion Road to Damascus moment - he is not going to get a nanogram of sympathy from me

I just hope that if there is more to it than fake news or a false positive test, that he gets well enough soon enough to see a YUUUUGE landslide loss, more tax evasion tapes in the headlines and a whole lot of his miserable life tied up in court cases as the defendant

No quiet retirement on the grounds of ill health or presidential pardons from Pence or Pelosi.

Well. This has certainly knocked Jamal Khashoggi, creepy Kushner and the proud louts off the front pages. How very convenient

Well they've tested Biden and he is clear. Even though there is a possibility Trump might be using this as a diversion, he would be depriving himself of the chance to scream abuse at everyone he dislikes at his hate rallies for 2 weeks. He really enjoys them and he also can't pose 'presidentially' in front of Air-force One with the grim Melania. He claims he's working from the White House. More likely stuffing his face with hamburgers swilled down with coke and scanning the news networks and I assume come hell or high water tweeting away.

Unfortunately for Joe Biden, he's not out of the woods yet. If he has got it from all those aerosol drops of trump venom, it may take several days to show up in a test

From everything I know about that piece of trump filth, attempting to infect his opponent because WINNING means doing whatever it takes, is just the sort of thing trump would do and then claim that it makes him SMART.

At first I had assumed the whole thing was fake - yet another bright shiny and very convenient distraction to get attention away from the disastrous debacle and the Grinch tapes. But now that a dozen of the devil's disciples have come down with the virus, it looks like the real deal after all
I guess I will die laughing if the super spreader event turns out to be the Supreme Court gloat fest starring The Contagious ACB on Saturday 26th September

I thought it was almost confirmed it was the gloat fest organised to present their SCOTUS candidate that was held at the White House, since so many of the vipers of the GOP were struck down by the plague in recent days had attended that function.

I'm starting to think lying is another infectious disease that anyone can catch when in contact with The Dumpster. The doctors who are treating him were trying to explain today why they misrepresented the Dumpster's condition the day before. They felt they had to match the tone he had set in his 4-minute message (made in his room in the hospital the day before) in their description of his condition. Why on earth would any doctor feel that they had to lie about things like his blood oxygen levels. Admittedly they don't have the Dumpster's skills in lying and the media picked the evasions fairly quickly.
