Better Beginnings

I'm so glad to see the back of last year
Such an elegant number but nasty content
With 2020 hindsight, I can only laugh at all those old futuristic prognostications

So many novels were set in the future year 2000 or 2020
Anyone stuck in that time machine would slam the door pretty fast

I guess 1918 and 1939 to 1945 were a whole lot worse
Lucky I wasn't alive for any of them

So I got this year off to a good start. A buy nothing day spent lurking around the garden, planting weeds and doing the odd banishing blitz

I'm stealing the success spirals trick to get stuff done this year
It works wonderfully with Duolingo so I'll extend it to other things too

I've done 4 of the 5 items on my To Do list and will spend tomorrow hunting for a half price Goal Digger diary before slinking off to my favorite lunatic asylum

I'm hunting and pecking the letters on the tiny Tweet stone while sitting in the garden rather than facing the stuffy room upstairs where the Big Mac lurks

So the rhubarb meme will have to wait until later
