The Serpent Shrine

Since there's not much moon to see at the moment - decided to tackle one rather big decluttering mission that we'd been putting off for a while. Due to our impending absence from the Lair and the snooping nosing nature of Petunia, thinks that it just might be the perfect occasion to move the Serpent Shrine upstairs to share with the bears away from prying eyes.
It consists of a round table with a glass top. Used to have some very pretty witchy pottery mushrooms on top but since January 2002 had been adding all sort of little bits and pieces - twigs, sprigs of wormwood, shells, candles, cards from very special Cats and all sorts of other objects with serpent sentimental value. But it had been getting way too crowded and was almost a monument to clutter. Needless to say - all this stuff had to be taken off and the glass dusted before moving.
Since it looked so so nice being all clean and pristine, decides to put back only the mushrooms, a dragon's egg (from the Fairy Godparents) and a skull ashtray. So it's basically a north, south, east, west arrangement with the dragon's egg in the centre.
Brought the box upstairs with all the bits and things in it and put it next to the cradle with the baby critters. At some stage will get out the cards - especially the gorgeous ones with Cats and the evil green Slytherin card. But will put them someplace else as we rather like this new look shrine. A candle or two here or there and it will be most nice indeed.
Even resisted the temptation to slink about online for an hour in order to get this deed done. It truly is scary how the Lair is slowly being transformed from the capital of clutter into a reasonably tidy little serpent sty. Izzie will never be a minimalist - that's her sister's job but too much stuff is so distracting and we've basically had enough of CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome)
So now it's time to slink outside and listen to Late Night Live and finally munch those wafers and mooncakes
