Four Legs Good. Two Legs Better

I just bought a ticket for Animal Farm BEFORE reading this blurb.
I wanted to pick the performance on Tuesday 19th October because there is a Q&A after the show. But that would be tempting fate. The simple act of booking that date would cause the arrival of a red letter announcing that I've finally moved to the top of the op queue for Monday 18th.
The days of dawdling are over because the new Covid rules means that you have to buy all the tickets in a block. To find a single solitary spot is a rare thing indeed and it would be nuts to procrastinate.
So I am trading tomorrow's zoo visit for a trip to the farm from HELL.
My fellow patriots,
We’re going to MAKE ANIMAL FARM GREAT!
The reign of terror is over. You have put your faith in animalism and it has delivered. Best economy we’ve ever had. Ask a lot of pigs and they’ll tell you nobody knows economy better than me. Best thing… you’re really going to love this… you can’t wait to hear it I know… they always say I have the best ideas… we’re building a windmill! Trust me. You’re going to love it. Made by animals, for animals, bringing power to animals!

Date: 2021-10-10 01:57 pm (UTC)I think it has a bit of a Roald Dahl vibe to it. In fact, I mentioned it at work last week and one staffer thought it was written by Roald Dahl.
It would be sort of a trip down nostalgia lane because Mr Orwell made no secret of the fact that he was taking the piss out of Joseph Stalin, right down to all the dodgy non aggression pacts that he signed with his neighbours.
The play I saw last week had lovely little touches like a giant Big Brother screen showing assorted news coverage of the events on the farm. They even features the Q Anon shaman with those giant horns in footage of the farm rebellion.
Critters with tiki torches marching and proclaiming "Ewes will not replace us" (well at least that is what it sounded like)
Napoleon had a cute little red "Make Animal Farm Great Again" cap along with a pile of promotional videos proclaiming "Build that Windmill!"
Of course, he also had a Twitter account. The hens were on Instagram and there were a lot of Facebook fans on the farm along with FUX news.
I loved it so much that I am going back to see it again on Tuesday.
