I have totally screwed up the link but can't work out what I have done wrong.
I'm using the Tweet Stone so HTML markup is a nightmare.

Date: 2021-12-31 08:02 am (UTC)Sorry I can't comment on the content, as I can't really appreciate it... ;) not when it's so long, and without subtitles, and I have no clue about Oz politics ;) The music is nice, though.

It is definitely the case that political cartoons and political satire have a shelf life even shorter than prawns in an Aussie summer. Their target market is even smaller still.
I think the only snippets that would make any sense outside of Oz are the Von Trump Family feature and and the remake of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem Kubla Khan.
A few years ago they did Melania singing a twisted version of "Lily Marlene" which was hilarious. Joe and Donald also had a show down in a Spaghetti Western scene.
The first song "Welcome to the Rock" had me scratching my head with an sense of deja vu. I know this tune but from where? Definitely NOT the musical Hamilton because I hate rap so I would never watch it.
It was then I realized - the musical "Come from away" about a little town in Canada where many of flights landed when US airspace was locked down in the aftermath of the Twin Tower attacks of 2001.
Which reminds me - the new words of that song encompass one universal rule of politics. When the shit hits the fan - blame new migrants for everything!
It worked for the donald and Brexit and Oz politicians have been at it for the last 20 years.
I tried fixing the HTML now since I am at the Big Mac desktop. But still no luck.
PS Happy New 2022. Here's to a year of pointless productivity!
A gorgeous owl landed at the Lair yesterday. From Book Depository Oz. No names, receipts or anything so I guess BD has finally discovered that Christmas exists and that people like to send books as gifts. What on earth took them so long to work that out?
But the little Black Book has the Cat's paws all over it. From a distance, it could easily pass as a Bible or even a Book of Shadows ;)
After being so brain dead for most of last year, If I hadn't been writing things down, I would have got nothing done at all. It's a sneak hack to the subconscious.
I will send an email some time in the next couple of days.
