Purple Haze

So November is finally over and once again this emerald serpent is looking quite purple.
Of course, the story I set out to write is NOT the one that got written.
As my favourite saying goes
"The map is not the territory"
And when my brother Dearest Dudley turns up dragging the Grinch in his wake, then the map and territory soon lose even the remotest resemblance to each other.
Aside from possibly catching one of his bugs, since he left on Wednesday, I have been hitting the serpent sack around 9pm.each evening & sleeping straight through the night.
This evening will be no different.
Hopefully, within a few days I can start replying to the long overdue posts and comments in DW Land.
The other thing I noticed more than ever after arranging to meet my brother this time last week at the jacaranda tree near a new cafe, is that when my brother landed in Oz on Friday 11th, the jacarandas were in bloom here and there.
Now everywhere looks like a gorgeous purple haze. Then the petals fall making the ground look like the prettiest purple carpet.
Some 10 years ago, the local council planted jacaranda trees all along the boundary between a large park and the road. This park is just around the corner and I get to see the trees in all their purple magnificence when catching the bus to and from the city
There may be another 3 weeks of peak purple.
Next will be the bright orange of Nuytsia Floribunda but those pretty little critters are few and far between these days.
Meanwhile at the Lair, the Angel's trumpets have taken over the whole floral orchestra. After 50 twisted white pointy flared angel skirts, I gave up counting
But the intoxicating fragrance fills the air with its zombie promise.
Like proper witches, they work their most potent magic at night.
I'm now slinking off for a sniff.
