A quick hiss
20/02/2023 08:05 pmSo the freaky Fringe Party is over for another year.
Now it's time to return to the mundane Muggle world.
A bit like the craziness of Christmas and New Year celebrations, it's actually a relief to return to boring normal.
It's the contrast between the 2 states that makes festivals so special.
The weird thing is that just like Christmas, during my time in the Fringe Twilight Zone, I find myself resurrecting memories of past shows from previous years. Since I've been a regular since it went big in 2012, there are a lot of good memories.
A similar thing I've also noticed, the more I am able to be in the present moment (especially while cursing those jerks flashing their phones during shows) the more likely that I will be able to revisit that memory in great detail some time in the future.
Being in the present moment is a blissful sort of emptiness. Maybe openness is a better description
So very different from the heavy scratchy sense of buzziness when in the dreaded Red Zone.
It's like the difference of having an ocean of gentle waves in one's mind compared to a nasty nest of very angry hornets.
On Friday evening I'm expecting a menagerie of mushrooms, caterpillars, rushing rabbits and Cheshire cats.
There is an exhibition called Wonderland on at the museum and on Fridays they have the Half Mad Bar with guided tours and crazy creatures.
Last week they had some very psychedelic projections on the walls of the old jail which is part of the museum.
It was surprisingly quiet. I guess most people were at the assorted Fringe Gardens.
I must dust off my Alice Tarot deck in anticipation of the big event
