The Green Zone

There have been so many things happening in Dursleyville but I have been too distracted to slink upstairs to squiggle about any of them.
Today I finally made it. The Big Mac had been in sleep mode. The date on the calendar was Friday 5th May which is over 2 weeks ago now.
Since then there has been the Coronation, the very low voltage "High Voltage" street party and the annual Garden Week festival now back to its usual spot in late April or early May.
It is planting season now in this part of Oz and I have already found nooks for 15 leaf babies in the last week.
The orange tree has started flowering a couple of days ago so I love sitting in the garden in the evening getting high on the amazing fragrance. There are a couple of Angel's Trumpets still in flower too. I really must get some jasmine and honeysuckle too then I won't even need a glass or two of red to get the most delightful version of sensory overload.
I had been a bit neurotic earlier in the day but found that planting, pottering in the garden and sniffing the orange blossoms definitely had a calming effect. I went from red to green surprisingly quickly and realized just how much easier it is to think clearly when in the Green Zone.
I made more progress in my 90 Day Putz Blitz today than the whole of last week.
Powerless effort vs effortless power.
Now that sunset is around 17.30 these days, I need to reschedule more of my days to return to the Lair around 15.30ish to make the most of the gorgeous weather in the garden.
I just finished making the most of the new Duolingo Happy Hour. Maybe it has been running for a while but I only found out about it some 6 weeks ago. Of course, scheming serpent that I am, I use XP boosts to double the bonus 5 points per lesson between 8 and 9pm on Saturday evenings.
I had a 15 minute freebie from a Friends quest along with the 30 minute Night Owl bonus. So I clocked up around 520 points in 50 minutes which is a record for me. Or rather a record when not burning up gems doing the Purple lessons while getting double points for them.
Any time I seriously attempted to get in the top 3 of the Diamond league, I switched to Russian and did those purple lessons taking about 3 minutes per lesson and getting between 80 and 90 points for each one. But at a cost of 100 gems a pop, I usually only did them when Duo gave me a random 3 days of Super as a freebie.
Today I was doing Indonesian which I started on Tuesday 2nd May. The new unit was all about buying food or ordering meals in restaurants and I was delighted to discover that I already knew 3/4 of the vocabulary from regular visits to Indonesian restaurants in Oz.
Funny how Nasi goreng sounds much more delicious than fried rice when they both mean exactly the same thing.
Apart from nasi goreng and mi goreng, my favorite Indonesian or Malaysian dish is deep fried tofu or tempeh with satay sauce. I am not allergic to peanuts. I am totally addicted to them.
I even have an emergency jar of real peanut butter as well as a little pepper grinder that I bring with me when out and about because everything tastes better with peanut butter or freshly ground pepper.
Those 7 lessons have now made me hungry.
