izmeinaOne peeved python slinks by. No idea how we ever made it to the magic 50,000
Fallen in a heap ever since. Spent a glorious sunny Monday afternoon snoozing instead of gardening or going on coffee crawls
Been only 60 mins in Cyberia and nearly 50 of that stupid Opera has been frozen and firefox for half of that time
Yesterday's attempt at farting around with editing google docs was soon dumped as a very very bad idea. Endless episodes of the Deep Freeze and grinding grunting sound effects
Was hoping to add a thousand or so words to the grand total but it did not happen. In the end decided to be content with leaving the total at 50805 - a pretty symmetrical number. It was 50,915 in Google docs word count so not sure which bits went missing in action
More infernal beachballs and the usual shit. Was peeking over at the nutty nano forums to see what folks there are using as software and the verdict was unanimous that one large Open Office file is just asking for trouble. Google docs is not much better but also with the added twist of network errors meaning that you cannot save stuff and have to go farting around cutting and pasting stuff elsewhere
Decided that it's going to be sooner rather than later that we get a new Preciousssss - especially as the winner's circle get the option of 1/2 price Scrivener software.
Nothing - not even Skype or the latest Firefox works on a Mac with an operating system older than OSX 10.4
The rule is that Izzie is allowed her new toy if and only if buying it does not send the plastic fantastic into the red. So two fortnights of rent and the fat juicy tax refund ($$200 of which has already been decadently devoted to the Dymocks 20% off book sale last Friday) should be enough to get Izzie over the line by the end of December.
Only question is now - desk top or laptop. Maybe as well as writing out the pros and cons for each option - should sneak a peak at the old Dark Grimoire and see what the cards have to say
