A Zombie Serpent
03/03/2011 09:50 pmAfter a month of brain dead sizzling misery, the serpent is slowly stirring and returning to the usual abnormality
It was fitting to spend half the day at the old lunatic asylum pottering around with glue, leather, drills, blunt scissors and very sharp knives.
Was feeling most peeved that most of the long awaited "Art of the Book" course got sabotaged by the zombie bitch.
But there turned out to be a shred of hope. The teacher unexpectedly announced that if four or more of us were interested we could get a two or three week extension
Even the girl who half chopped her finger off this morning was willing to sign up for two more weeks of masochistic madness
But will save that gory story for another instalment. The whole four weeks served as example of how the inner zombie beast can be such a total miserable party pooping bitch. So now there's two more weeks to make up for all that brain dead zombie stupidity
Yesterday afternoon and evening which should have been spent squiggling in Cyberia or in the boring old spiral notebook, adding details to the nano plot or even attending the weekly Wednesday evening public speaking group got spent snoozing. Yessss. All of it. Not just a quick 40 minute nap as intended but the whole day after 2pm. Especially wasteful as it was the second day of half decent weather after the appalling string of hot humid days and 24+ celsius nights.
For some inexplicable reason, the more a serpent snoozes the more tired she seems to be. Maybe too much of a good thing.
Today was the other extreme - up at 7am and on the bus at 7.50. Silly bugger was late as was the connecting bus. So much for the grand plan for a whole hour of coffee drinking and unwinding before the class started. Ended up with only half of that
No idea how folks can put up with this craziness five days a week. One good thing about the serpent day job is being able to totally avoid the hell that is rush hour traffic. All that time wasted waiting - for late buses or behind the wheel at never ending sets of red lights is so frustrating and tiring that it is amazing anyone has any energy left by the time they arrive at the day job. Then they get to do it all again at 5pm
This evening also had a discussion group at the other end of the train line from 6.30 to 8pm so was not back at the Lair until just after 9pm
Resisted the urge to hit the hay and it seems to have worked. Should have done the same yesterday
Tomorrow will be off to the beach for Sculpture by the Sea. Here's hoping that it is just the recharge that the serpent green cells need to lay to rest the evil zombie incarnation once and for all.
