So so many distractions and temptations on Twitter. If it's not the TERF wars, it's trump and the tired old road show that finally tripped up in Tulsa

It's Schadenfreude on steroids

Especially amusing is that they did all of this to themselves. Brad Parscale - the trump road show manager was bragging last week on Twitter about the 800,000 people who had registered for the rally and the YUUUGE data haul

A day or two later, trump had already upped it to a million. And it was precisely that bragging that was their undoing. Surely they must realize that at least half of them must be fake? It's not like it's the first time that it ever happened

The K pop kids and their FAKE registrations never stopped anyone from turning up because there was no limit on applications. Even 8 hours before the event, the page was still up along with its COVID-19 disclaimer - the reason I visited the site in the first place. I could have registered too but figured that my overseas phone number would be a dead give away

Not a single one of these trump train twits thought of cross checking with hotel and caravan park bookings. Oh the joys of confirmation bias

If I had a ticket to an event at a 20,000 seat stadium and was told that there had been 800,000 applications, hell even only 80,000, unless I had a reserved seat, there is no way that I would turn up and that is without the COVID Grim Reaper creeping around


Meanwhile, back in Oz, the second wave has started. The 2 most populous states have always had the greatest difficulty keeping Coronavirus under control but it's Victoria that is now particularly hard hit. Strangely because they have had the strictest lockdown rules. There have been a bunch of clusters in Melbourne. Not sure it there is any connection yet to the previous weeks of protests

Here in the wild west, on Saturday they will be loosening more restrictions. Large venues and stadiums will be allowed to be filled to 50% capacity, there will be no limits on numbers in bars and restaurants so long as they adhere to 2 square metres per person
At this stage, the main restrictions remaining are the internal state border and quarantine for all incoming travelers. Not sure yet about restrictions remaining for outgoing travelers
